Beauty Secretes: Girl Talk Thursday

Published by admin under Pandemonium on January 28, 2010

Because I’m so beautiful I have so many secretes that keep me this way. I’m literally rolling on the floor laughing about this. We’re talking about what your secretes are that make you so beautiful at Girl Talk Thursday.

I had to really think about this one. Mainly because being a stay at home mom there’s no motivation to get “beautiful” every morning. I rarely wear makeup (was even like this before being a SAHM), and don’t consider myself covergirl-esque. BUT here are the things that I do that make me feel beautiful which in turn makes me beautiful so HA:

  1. Use astringent after washing my face. This closes the pores and reduces the amount of pimples you acquire. If I don’t use this I look like a 13 year old girl.
  2. I bleach my mustache….yeah I said it!  Can’t believe I’m admitting this online…..only for you Girl Talk Thursday…..only for you. Anyways I don’t shave or wax because it’s like lil peach fuzz/barely there. I think I’m like 1/8 Italian or something because it is DARK.  You bleach it and no one notices i.e. no stubble or ingrown hairs.
  3. I don’t color or highlight  my hair. I tried that in High School, but discovered that natural was best. People even compliment me on it and ask where I’ve gotten it highlighted it at( It’s called go outside in the sun….but wear sunscreen brings me to my next secrete).
  4. WEAR SUNSCREEN. It’s not sexy to look like a lobster or to have skin cancer. I’ve found a couple that I like that even have a shimmer in them which kinda makes you look like you’ve been tanning and it’s not fake tan stuff.
  5. Mineral Make-up, Lash TINT (not mascara), shimmer eye shadow, and chapstick….when I do wear make-up that’s what I put on. It provides smooth coverage and you’re skin isn’t paying for wearing it the next day. Also you don’t have as much breakage or any clumps with Lash tint. Neutrogena makes an awesome one that I use. Then the shimmer shadow I think just looks light and not overdone. I don’t wear lipstick because I think it looks fake. If you lips are moist and healthy looking there is no reason to hide them.

My overall beauty secrete philosophy is “Wear what yo momma gave you”. More or less keep it natural and accentuate what you’ve got. What’s your secrete?

  1. MommyNaniBooboo Said,

Being a SAHM as well, if my face has been cleansed, and I have showered- it's a good day! But when I do feel the need for makeup- it's mineral all the way, baby!

  2. Kelly Said,

I waver on the hair color. Now that I have streaks of gray at my temples, I feel more beautiful when my hair is down and you can see the gray. However, I suppose that equates beauty with youth …

  3. The Ranting Mommy Said,

soooo true. the 'normal' day sees me getting a shower at say 3:00 IN THE AFTERNOON. wOOt! Also, glamorous.

  4. The Ranting Mommy Said,

I like your list. I am quite the opposite, if I DON'T put on a little mascara/eyeliner/lip tint, I feel super gross and troll-ish. Alas, vanity is my curse. booooooooooo

So, what I am trying to say is thanks for your list .. you inspire me to be more natural. *slaps ass*

  5. Beth Said,

I used to color my hair when I was younger and then stopped because it took too much work to maintain.

I get a lot more color comments now than I ever did then. At least once every time I'm at my hairdresser's, someone asks her how to get my color. This is nature, folks

  6. Chibi Jeebs Said,

I stopped dying my hair because every time I tried, it turned an off-shade. And the one time I got salon highlights? That took FOUR HOURS? And cost me $150? No one noticed. They were *too* subtle. *shakes head*

  8. Brittany Said,

yeah my normal day is showering at night when the kids are in bed lol o.0….completely hear what your saying!

  9. Brittany Said,

I never contemplated what I'd do once I start getting gray hairs. However even though my grandmother always colors her hair & it's looked nice part of your brain notices it's not natural. I think I'd probably be a lot like you and feel more beautiful with the gray showing.

  10. Claudia Said,

have you tried having the…(and forgive me for saying this because I don't mean ANY disrespect at all!!!!) chick-stache threaded? It's a pretty painless procedure and doesn't involve the yanking like waxing does.

  12. Brittany Said,

I love that the other clients were ask'n what color you used ^_^ hehe. That's a defiant ego boost. Imitation is the best form of flattery.

  13. Brittany Said,

If you want some nice highlights ; this summer before you go to the pool brew a cup of chamomile tea (to highlight lighter shades of hair like blond or light brown hair) & then spray on your hair. It works kind of like a sun-in product, but I've noticed it doesn't dry out my hair as bad. This works faster then just spending time out in the sun, which is good because sun can also damage your hair at the same time.

  14. Brittany Said,

No offense taken haha. Actually yes! Not many people know how to thread, but I managed to find a salon here locally after researching it about 4 1/2 years ago. However the technician said the hair folicle had to be 1/16 of an inch in order for her to do the procedure/get a good grip around the hair & they're not that long. She said I was just overly self conscious about it and recommended to keep bleaching if it made me feel better lol.
