I hate going to the Dentist

Published by admin under In The Begining on June 7, 2009

I don’t know why, but it always seems like my teeth are rotting out of my mouth. I brush them regularly so I’m not quite sure why cavities are frequently occurring. I think it’s all a ploy to get your money and put you in pain…..you do not really have a cavity!  I still have a root canal that I am somewhat in denial of needing. I have yet to schedule an appointment for it. Anyways today I went to get two filings done. There was a different Dentist there today then the one I had regularly seen. He was really polite at first, introduced himself, and made a bad joke about teeth decay. Then the next thing I know the dude was sticking me with a NEEDLE. I am deathly afraid of needles. Reflexively my hand came up to block him, and I was politely and forcefully told as the nurse grabbed my hand “Mam, put your arm down! I have not used that topical shit in 20 years”. Yes he did say shit.  If it weren’t me getting stuck without the numbing crap I probably would have laughed.  Actually he was right though. It didn’t hurt to bad. You just feel the liquid entering your gums, and it feels really weird. I think it was more or less I was caught off guard. I told him afterward he’s lucky he didn’t tell me he was going to do that otherwise I probably would have rescheduled my appointment! Not a smart way to talk to the man who is going to be drilling on your teeth….However he was extremely quick.I was in and out of the Dentist office in 1 hour. I think that is a world record! I was in a bad mood the rest of the day as the numbness wore off, and the teeth began to ache. I felt like two face with the side of my face all droopy. However my mouth wasn’t too sore. He wasn’t as rough as the other dentist.  This experience reminded me or Bill Cosby’s stand up “Himself” when he was talking about going to the dentist’s….It amazes me we all have this universal experience at the Dentist yet they do not change the way they do things haha. I’m curious to hear about other people’s experiences at the Dentist, but at the same time I’m not because then I really will not be motivated to schedule my appointment for the root canal. At least there wasn’t “smeke” coming out of my mouth, and my face wasn’t “hanging on the floor”. However this doctor did tell me to rinse haha. I think my bite feels a little off haha…..
