Exhaustion or Miracle ?

Today is the notorious Lawn Care Friday. Every Friday the apartment complex has a lawn care company come out to trim, mow, and blow leaves around(I don’t know why….). AND every Friday my children awake from their naps screaming bloody murder when the lawn care people come past our apartment with the ridiculous leaf blowers or the lawn mower. It sounds like a chainsaw massacre is going down in our apartment. Well today I was holding my breath as they passed as usual and no one woke up. They even swept past twice! I am amazed. Floored is the more appropriate word. Lawn Care Fridays have never failed to disrupt and ruin a perfectly good Friday for almost a straight year now……why the sudden change? I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that at 4:30 this morning Vera had climbed in our bed and began talking to Naomi. Putting both of them back to bed was a challenge because by the time Matthew got Vera to sleep, and I got Naomi back to sleep it was time for Matthew to get around and ready for work. I finally got back to sleep myself when he was headed out the door and not even a half hour later everyone was up again. When you have a new baby everyone warns you of the sleep deprivation that is about to ensue, but they do not warn you that it will last way past infancy! My toddler sleeps worse then my 7 month old. I am almost sure that her sleeping through the leaf blowers has nothing to do with being accustomed to it, and everything to do with lack of sleep. I wish that weren’t the case because maybe then I would be able to start looking forward to Fridays again.
