Don’t let the Nipple Dimple Fool You
Published by admin under In The Begining on July 17, 2009I will be talking about breastfeeding so fair warning. I regularly used Lansinoh breastfeeding pads, but they recently raised their prices. That and when we last went to Target they were completely out. When your breast are leaking there isn’t the option to do without and Matthew wasn’t about to drive to another store for them. He’s the one-stop kinda guy. Right next to where my brand of choice booby pads use to be was Johnson’s Nursing Pads. They advertised such things as super absorbent core and unique nipple indentation. That last one was what really sold me. Really, you mean there’s a special little spot or my nipple to go?! AWESOME. I was sadly mislead though. I’ve been trying them out for a few days now trying to give Johnson’s the benefit of the doubt (because I do so love their other products). A word of advice; Don’t let the Nipple Dimple Fool You. Once the milk leaks the dimple is gone anyways. Making in pointless in my opinion. That and it makes you look you have some bad T.H.O. because in retrospect I can see it’s not simply a dimple it’s just like an extrusion from the nursing pad! Also they are not “super” absorbent. In the time frame that I would only need one Lansinoh bfpad I now need to use 3 of these Johnson’s. That and they are extremely small….like they barely cover an entire areola. I would like to think that mine are not ridiculously sized too so that is saying something! In the end I guess they weren’t much of a better value. If you are breastfeeding or plan to I would avoid this brand like the plague. They do not deliver anything they promise except airflow to help sore nipples considering they leak. Another thing that bothered me is they do not come packaged. They are just inside the box exposed. It doesn’t make it very easy to take with you in a diaper bag because it poses the risk of getting germs on the pad which can transfer to the very thing you are feeding your baby with.
I’m just have to pay the extra $2.
