Comments: This would have been a great movie had it not been suposed to be based off a book that it barely followed. The cinematography and the general flow of the film from one scene into another was great. The story was easy to follow. However, and this a big however, there were complete fabricated scenes in the movie and areas that were in the book that could have spent more time on were barely given screen time. This a spoiler, but hey the movie didn’t really care to much about their portrayal so why should I care about giving it away. Dumblore’s death in the movie is all wrong. It feels so matter of fact, and when you read it in the book there is a lot of emotion building up to his untimely demise. Not to mention that Harry was not bellow them in the tower, nor did Snape tell him to keep quiet. He was under his invisibility clock stunned only able to regain mobilitiy when Dumbledore’s spell couldn’t hold him because he was no longer alive. Everyone just gives him a wand solute what?! That is ridiculous they held a full fledged funeral in the book to honor this great wizard. Why would Warner Brother’s dumb this down? Also they left out a lot of important memories that Dumbledore showed Harry that are going to be critical to telling the next story in the next movie. It seemed to me that the reason the film was in editing so long was that they had to much footage. Everything seemed montaged together;not even right in some places. Another thing that just about made me take my nachos and leave the theater; they destroyed the burrow! Why? It wasn’t even neccsary. If I were J.K. Rowling I would have been like wtf. Remind me someday if I ever get published that no movie deals unless I’m the contracted screenplay writer haha. I am giving this movie a C+ simply because it was fantastic to watch it just didn’t even half-way resemble it’s source. Unfortunately if you are a fan of the Harry Potter books it’s like a requirement you go see it.
