23 Years old

In a few short hours it’ll be my 23rd birthday. My dad just happened to be passing through town so we’re going to spend the day with him at the Zoo tomorrow. For some reason it doesn’t feel like my birthday. I do not feel 23. What is special about being 23? I guess mainly with my birthday being tomorrow I’m just thanking God that he’s given me another day. That is something to celebrate. I made a wish-list on amazon to drool over all the things I can’t afford; things I’d feel awkward/stoked if someone got for me. I had a good day today, and I’m hoping it carries over into tomorrow. Up until this point though all my birthdays were somewhat of an occasion, but now I’m just an old person so it doesn’t matter. I mean when your littler your parents fuss over your birthday. Then suddenly your 16, then 18, and last but not least you’re 21 (22 was special for me because of Naomi’s impending arrival). When I think of 23 all I can think of is that horrible suspense thriller staring Jim Carey…..you know what I’m talking about right? The Number 23 is a good example of how I feel about my birthday; apprehensive. Don’t mistake me, I am looking forward to this upcoming year. It’s just seems like a milestone no one ever talks about….like the “birthday that there’s not a whole lot to be excited about” milestone lol.
