The Ants come Marching One by One Hooray Hooray….ok more like the millions!

Only my ants are "crazy"

The past few days has been utter torture for my family and I. I am not sure where to even begin.

What was a few ants last week when I made the pest control request multiplied over night into a total invasive infestation. They pwned my apartment, dudes. These ants weren’t your typical ants either…..they didn’t want my food or water. They wanted my home! They are everywhere and in everything. We have had to shake out our clothes, they got into surge protectors, and even the blessed computer 0_0! Then I started noticing something was weird with these guys. They don’t march in “trails”, and they have no personal boundaries; one jumped off a wall to avenge his comrade as I smashed him. No joke! They walk all over you like you’re part of the scenery and they OWN you. This became a huge problem in a matter of days as all my instincts were telling me to “GET OUT WHILE YOU STILL CAN”. I was on the phone almost in tears with my apartment complex to PLEASE PLEASE send pest control out…..their response “We’ve got you on the list for Thursday”.  That wasn’t a good enough answer for me so I called a Pest Control company not associated with our apartment to get some information. Their response was “DAMN, those ants your discribing are Rasberry Crazy Ants“….Me….”What?! What are those and what do they do”. Well to make a long story short these pest control people were like we can’t help you because the spray to kill these suckers is restricted to us they’re so “crazy”. What?! SO today was Thursday. I called right as the complex office opened to talk to the manger to express even more anger and distaste as I had experienced the nail in the coffin. I had found FOUR ants crawling on my baby’s (ok Vera’s not a baby, but she’s still my lil girl) face this morning. I was horrified. What if one had crawled in her nostrils or her ears? These guys don’t care! After calming down I explained to her what the other Pest people had said and she was just as miffed as I was, but said she’d pass it along to the Pest People and that they’d be over in a few minutes. A few minutes turned into a couple hours, and I was starting to get frantic. You try living in a home where you’ve got bugs all over you ….at least one an hour if not more….I called the office back and to my dismay the Pest People had an emergency and weren’t going to be back until 1pm. Well 1pm. rolled along, then 2,3,4 and by then I was about ready to pack my bags and skip town if I weren’t so worried the damn crazy ants wouldn’t follow me! I called again only to find out that they “forgot” me 0_0. You can imagine the heibby jeeby dance I was doing by then.They said he’d be back before closing and then 5 rolled along and the closer it got to 6 I think I was seriously losing my mind. I say this as one crawled across my hand just now 0_0. I called the office again & this time the apartment office manager was getting crunk and was like “He’s going to be there, OK. He said traffic was bad, and someone has to be there to let him in. BYE.”. Seriously she hung up on me -_-. LOW and BEHOLD the Pest Person did show up though. 6:40 is better then never.

Our relief was short lived though. He was just as dismayed and disgusted as we were. Aparently they are really hard to get rid of and they are DESTRUCTIVE. He said they’re structural ants so they got inside from the outside somehow and our living in our walls. That and they have up to 8 queens that our popping out babies -_-. My lord.  He told us we were lucky we caught it when we did because he has seen ENTIRE walls covered at some residences. I don’t feel lucky. I want my home back. He sprayed a couple rooms and baited, but tomorrow they have to come back and we have to evacuate while theydo a  “complete crazy ant treatment” (whatever that is). I hope our fishies don’t die. He said we have to wrap their tank up to protect them from the fumes and the ants. Yes the ants can kill the fish 0_0….

I and everyone else who have had a run in with these invasive species I’m sure want to know where these things came from, who introduced them, and why haven’t they paid for their crime! Introducing a species to new environments that are not theirs can have dire consequences and repercussions  we can not even begin to imagine. I know what I’d like to do to them….make them and their family come live in my apartment! I wouldn’t even wish that on my enemy.
