Father’s Day and every day inbetween

Published by admin under In The Begining on June 24, 2009

We have been super busy lately. This is the first time I’ve got to sit down and just think in quite awhile, besides reading with Matthew. Which by the way we’ve finished Twilight, and are already half-way through New Moon. Guys like to pretend that Twilight is icky, but Matthew has been a very tentative listener for New Moon. In-fact we are making record speed through this book. I’m trying to encourage him to write a review for Twilight. I think women would be interested to see what a man thinks of the novel. It was the whole purpose of me making him a contributor on the site, but no he wants to blog about the hippo lady upstairs -_-. I”m just a tad bit bitter he’s gotten comments on that….one post and he gets random commenters. The only people that comment on what I have to blog about are friends. Hopefully once I get traffic pumped through the site that will change. However I do like the collaboration blogging. I’ve never read a blog that has a husband and wife write on the same site.

I would like to think that Matthew had a good fathers day. I know I did haha. That and it was jam packed with wholesome family goodness. In the morning Vera presented him with a card that she had colored on for him with a picture of her latest obsession; circles. Then I let Matthew pick out what he wanted to do for the day. He chose to eat at Fire Wok, and then after that we went home to put the girls down for a nap while I read New Moon to him. Once the girls woke up we headed out to Sea World. I was kind of worried that it would be crowded, but it wasn’t. We went there with the sole intention of feeding the dolphins since we hadn’t done that yet. We had seen them, but were not about to spend $5 for four fish to feed them. Since it was father’s day we could justify the expense! Boy, am I glad we did! I don’t think I’ve laughed that hard in awhile. They instruct you to lay flat, stick out the fish, drop it in their mouth, pet them if they allow you to, and once you are out of fish step away from the wall because it is just teasing them. Matthew’s all about getting his five dollars worth, and ignored the stepping away from the wall instruction. Well a dolphin didn’t like that he was continuing to pet him without any food so he sprayed Matthew in the face haha. The best part is I was recording it all with the camera! I had a really bad angle, but the look on Matthew and Vera’s face was classic haha. For those of you who are my “friends” on facebook I’ve posted the video. Once I get some time I’ll post it on the blog for all to see. We also took in an evening show that we don’t usually have the opportunity to see since we normally go earlier. Once on our way home we grabbed Taco Cabanna; another Dad’s pick.  You know….I wish Mother’s Day was this fun. Everyone expects Mother’s day to be quiet. You take mom out to a nice dinner, and spend the day quietly indoors with family. Why?! It’s just odd. On father’s day you are expected to go out and do something exciting. It’s a tad bit ironic too. Matthew is more of the type of person to enjoy a quiet boring day, and I am always the one who wants to go go go. Oh well. I think the Holidays are just poppycock anyways.

Since then I’ve just been trying to recover the house from the weekend. That never seems to happen until Friday, and then it all piles back up again. A mother’s job is never finished. Then Tuesday I had a dentist appointment at 4 so Matthew had to come home to watch the girls. That was a joke. I guess I thought my tooth had chipped around the filling they just did because it’s hurt like heck since they did it. After taking X-Rays and examining the tooth the dentist informed me that there is no chip. They looked at me like I was crazy. They offered to redo the filling next week, and went ahead and set the appointment. However I think I am going to politely bow out since they basically said there is nothing wrong with it, and if the tooth is already that sore from having it filled the 1st time I cannot imagine what round 2 would be like. I’ve had fillings done before that have never hurt like this. Matthew has a theory that maybe they filled it to high and my bite is off. Then when I bite down all the time it creates some pain because my teeth are shifting. Who knows. All I know is it hurts. After that fiasco we went to our favorite place to go on Tuesdays; Chick-Fil-A. Kids eat free on Tuesdays with the purchase of a value meal. That and Vera loves it. It’s the “moo-cow” restaurant. Long story for already a long post…..Olivia and John joined us for dinner too. After dinner we grabbed diapers from Target. I must mention that I am in love with target’s brand “Up & UP”. They are affordable, and have cute poke-o-dots all over them. Once we grabbed those we headed over to Freddy’s for frozen custard together. It’s the closest thing to a Steak-N-Shake I’ve found in San Antonio. God I miss Steak-N-Shake. I need to make a trip to Austin for it before I die of withdrawal. Today Matthew’s birthday present came in the mail. I’m so excited. I can not believe I’ve kept a secrete from him for this long. It’s amazing. He usually has gotten it out of me by now. I found it on amazon so he has like no idea ^_^. I need to wrap it before he gets home though.

That’s just some of the stuff we’ve been up to since I haven’t posted. Between Matthew and the girls I do not know how I find time to work on this website. Life is hectic, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

The Hippo lady

You forgot the time at 2 A.M when we were sleeping and their “harmonious” love making became so loud/physical that the picture above our bed fell on us. Or the time their toilet over flowed and was seeping through our ceiling. After that incident I went up to investigate and she informed me everything is under control and gave me the good old wink. My biggest pet peeve is the POS shit motorcycle they use to have. They would park that thing right in the middle of the parking lot (which is over crowded because everyone one in the world tries to squeeze into 6 spots. They should go park in front of there own damn building. BTW if I ever find you in my spot I’ll key the crap out of your car.). Back to my point, they would waste the spot for the bike that couldn’t even pass the city inspection. The overly loud stereo is getting really old too. I’m to the point I will go outside and shut off the main breaker to their apartment and let them figure out what’s wrong. I’m going to start to craft some mischievous schemes to torment then indirectly. They leave their car unlocked so I may plant thumb tacks throughout the car so when the sit they get poked! Or drop marbles into the window track of the car so when they stop they here a rolling noise and the thunk!
