This weekend Matthew was having a terrible time with his sinuses bothering him, and kept refusing to take Benadryl. “It makes me sleepy, and after it wears off the congestion is worse,” is what he kept whining. After making my weekend miserable I told him he’s gonna have to do something, and so he opted for eating something spicy. He swears that it drains your sinuses and keeps ‘em drained. I don’t know. I personally think it just burns the shit outta your mouth. All for getting him to quite complaining I offered to run into the store and grab a habanero pepper. Cheaper than over the counter medication this little pepper is only $4.49 a lbs at our local H.E.B, and trust me you are not going to even need 1/2 a lbs of these bad boys to do the job. You’ll probably only need 1/2 a single pepper haha especially when they rank on the #8 tier on the Scoville Scale. Our single pepper only set me back 4¢. For your viewing and laughing pleasure I decided to film Matthew taking his beloved pepper.
He said it worked, and his sinuses didn’t bother him at all after that. Also he said it was a two for one….colon cleanser and sinus clearer haha…..I’m sure you wanted to know about my husband’s bowl movements, but take it for what it’s worth Matthew did regret it in the morning haha.
This week’s Girl Talk Thursday’s topic is one I find humorous; “Getting crafty. Yes? No? HELL no?” . I find it funny because I’m “sorta” crafty. Not a full blow “Yes” or “Hell No”. I enjoy doing it (when I’m not rushing to finish), but am not always great at it. Like I’m creative, but not talented haha. My husband is the talented one, and I somewhat direct him in what to do if I feel I can’t execute the task. I’m bossy like that. I loved everyone who posted’s pictures so I encourage you to check them out, and I thought I’d add some of my own “getting crafty” ventures to the list.
First on the list, and if you read my blog you’ve probably already seen it. Our Art Box to store all our craft junk in it (minus my scrap-booking stuff that I haven’t touched since I was in 8th grade which is under my desk in our room haha):

Then there is exhibit A of me trying to be crafty, but was too ambitious. I did an under the sea theme for two year old’s birthday, and had been working on sewing the said seaweed canopy for almost a year(during & after pregnant with Nogi). It turned out cute, but later realized it was a strangling hazard lol. Now we only bust it out for supervised play time.

On to exhibit B; submarine. Use your imagination people! Inside Vera and I made a control panel which you can’t see from the picture, but this was at her party too. The little kids loved it.

Fortunately there isn’t much evidence of my other “getting crafty” expeditions, but let me tell you I LOVE hot glue guns, I once made these really ugly extra long burp cloths (thought it’d catch spit that somehow ends on the back of your shirt…you know what I’m talking about) as a gift, and I love using garbage to make stuff (weird I know). So there you have it, my sorta craftiness in it’s full glory.
