Weekend Warriors
Published by admin under Pandemonium on November 16, 2009I hardly spent anytime at home this weekend, and if I did it was spent doing chores. I was a weekend warrior or sorts. We got our grocery shopping done, and ordered Naomi’s 1st birthday cake for her party that is this coming Saturday. Went to a BarBQ at Matthew’s mom’s Saturday. I helped skewer some Kabob’s. That’s awesome therapy…thinking of every little thing that’s eating at you and impaling it with your kabob stick haha. Then Matthew worked really hard finding applications and programs to get some movies put on my phone. That way we have entertainment for the kiddos when out and about.
We also had found a little tykes climbing/slide cube on craigslist & went to pick that up. I got an awesome deal of $30 for it, and was pretty stoked about our purchase. That was until we realized that some cat must have sprayed it. We couldn’t tell at first because she sprayed it off when a hose before we came to pick it up. It stunk up the car, and just stunk in general so it sat on the porch not put together most of the weekend. I had had grand plans for this slide that have now been foiled haha. I was going to paint it with Krylon Fusion plastic spray paint & set it up in the girls bedroom. Here in TX half the year it’s practically too hot to go outside and do anything so I wanted something indoors for them to play on. That is probably not going to happen now. After cleaning it down with bleach last night I noticed in the light that there is a nasty lil mold problem inside of the plastic. I’m a little upset. Had I known that a cat had sprayed it would I have purchased it? Yeah sure, nothing bleach & a new coat of paint can’t fix. Had I known that there was mold inside would I have purchased it? No. Maybe if I can find a solution the plan may still be on, but looks like the slide has been vanquished to the great outdoors. That’s the way craigslist works though…..in Forest Gumps words….it’s like a box of chocolates; you never know what your gonna get. Well I got a nasty coconut chocolate that looks like the milk chocolates! Oh well, the girls will still have a blast playing on it. It’ll just happen outside. Any suggestions to getting rid of the mold? I’m all ears.
Now I’m just attending to the finishing touches of Naomi’s birthday party. I don’t think I’ll be able to rest till Sunday. I’ve got a lot on my plate this week.
